Putin Bolsters Drone Assault in Ukraine Before Anticipated Call With Trump

Russia went on with its killing of Ukrainian civilians before today’s planned event phone call between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump .

In Kherson, Russian bombardment resulted in the death of a 75-year-old woman and injured two more individuals, indicating that the Kremlin plans to persist with its military campaign despite efforts from the U.S. president to halt the ongoing fatalities.

In the area around Kharkiv, two females aged 75 and 55 experienced 'severe shock,' and a male who is 55 years old sustained injuries due to attacks on both a residential structure and adjacent storage facilities.

The affected areas included Sumy, Poltava, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Donetsk, Kirovohrad, Cherkasy, Mykolaiv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

Kremlin insiders view Putin as resolute in continuing the conflict despite mounting pressure from Trump to accept a truce and engage in substantial negotiations for peace.

According to Bloomberg, the Russian president thinks he'll control all of the areas including Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia by the end of this year if his military continues to fight.

Putin said on Russian state television: ‘We have enough strength and resources to bring what was started in 2022 to its logical conclusion with the result that Russia needs.’

Following the initial negotiations between Moscow and Kyiv in years, which did not result in a truce on Friday, the bombardment ensued.

Putin rejected Zelensky’s proposal for a direct meeting in Turkey following Putin's own suggestion of holding immediate talks as an alternative to the 30-day ceasefire requested by Ukraine and its Western partners.

This afternoon, Trump plans to discuss the end of the conflict in Ukraine with several world leaders including Putin via telephone, followed by conversations with Zelensky and heads of different NATO nations.

A failure of peace talks with Putin could mean the imminent imposition of new British and European sanctions against Russia.

A few days back, following the collapse of early negotiations, Putin launched a drone attack on a civilian bus in the Sumy area. resulting in nine deaths and injuring several others.

The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that a mother, a father, and their daughter were killed in the attack.

In aTelegrampost, he described it as 'a deliberate civilian slaughter' and added, 'Based on initial reports, the Russians killed an entire family: a father, mother, and daughter perished due to the explosion.'

In eastern Ukraine, large numbers of civilians are escaping from nearby towns and villages as opposing troops advance.

Russia’s TASS state news agency reported that Russian forces had struck a Ukrainian military equipment staging area in the region with drones.

Images provided by Ukrainian law enforcement depict a dark blue minivan that has been severely damaged, featuring a missing roof and shattered windows.
