Mom, 72, Allegedly Shoots Son Over Loud Video Games in Arizona Home
A mother from Arizona was taken into custody recently shooting Her 38-year-old son due to playing video games Too loud within their residence, according to police.
Hazel Benson, aged 72, is facing charges including aggravated assault, disorderly conduct, and firing a weapon inside city boundaries. This follows an incident where she reportedly shot her son at her residence in Mesa, Arizona, on Saturday evening. 12 News reported.
Benson, having dialled 000, informed cops According to the report, she aimed the firearm at her son and then tossed the weapon into a canal. The document states that she wasn't sure whether she struck him when she discharged the gun, and at that moment, he was standing near the rear entrance of her house.
When they discovered him, officers saw her son outside their residence with a bullet injury in his abdomen.
Around an hour prior to the incident, Benson contacted the police to report her son’s loud video game play as she was disturbed by it, as stated in court papers.
After the disagreement, her son decided to go for a stroll to "cool off." The officers informed Benson during her initial call that her son also had "legal grounds" because he resided in the house as well.
When her son returned home, however, Benson blocked him from entering, she told officers. He then lunged toward her with “his hands in fists at his waistline,” according to court documents.
Benson said she then raised the gun and fired, but was unaware if her son had been hit.
Shortly afterwards, when her son was "banging" on the back door, she dialed 911, according to the police.

Police stated that he was brought to the hospital in a stable condition.
